The school library

The library of the school is automated using an Integrated Library Management System (ILMS), namely NewGenLib. The school holds a large collection of books, journals and encyclopaedias in accordance with the norms of the Central Board of Secondary Education. The issue and return of books by students is recorded in the software, so that a student or a parent can be told at any time what is on loan and when it is due.

Online libraries and e-resources

Students and teachers also use the following online libraries. All four are free, and all four work on a phone. Students may use them from home; the library period is used to show younger classes how to search them.

National Digital Library of India
A single window to learning resources from Indian institutions — textbooks, question papers, lectures and journals, across school and higher education, in several Indian languages.

The Digital Library of India collection on the Internet Archive — a very large body of scanned Indian books, including works in Hindi and Sanskrit.

Using the library

Every class has a timetabled library period.
Books are issued against the student’s library card and must be returned on the due date.
Reference books, encyclopaedias and journals are to be consulted in the reading room and are not issued.
A book that is lost or damaged must be replaced or paid for.
The reading room is to be kept silent.
